Our technology platform provides unique access to metagenomic diversity

It is estimated that less than 1% of the world’s microbial diversity has been isolated and studied.  We have only seen the tip of the iceberg in terms of what nature has created.  ​

Metagenomics, which involves the sequencing of environmental and human microbiome samples, offers a powerful approach to access this untapped diversity. ​

However, not all metagenomic data is created equal.  Most metagenomic datasets are too small to capture the diversity in these extremely complex samples and/or are too fragmented to provide much insight into the genes and pathways encoded within these environments.  ​

The Topaz metagenomic platform generates large, well-assembled datasets that provide a more complete view of the biology in these systems and serve as a rich source of information for downstream computational approaches.
